2026 - CurrentI’m currently designing for Uber Direct, our white-label delivery solution for merchants. A lot of the work I’ve been doing is courier and customer facing, while also supporting the needs of our largest enterprise merchants, like Walmart, Apple, McDonald’s, Pizza Hut, etc.
There’s a lot of complexity and nuance that Direct deliveries might have in contrast to regular Eats deliveries, so it’s been a fun time partnering with our Earner teams to see how our frameworks can fit into theirs while enhancing the experience of couriers completing Direct trips.
See an example below - we were seeing a lot of incomplete tasks and failed deliveries when there were multiple complicated steps. The existing panel borrowed from Eats wasn’t serving us well, so I optimized the courier task panel to add clarity and improve info hierarchy, improving task completion and lowering defect rate.
